‘Almosts’ is an ongoing project visualizing the discomfort that accompanies the word “almost.” In this series I picture potential, posing as stored or untapped energy. I aim to capture that tip-of-the-tongue feeling, the face that couldn’t be remembered, the trophy that could’ve be won. I’m interested in the movement of a memory, the “what could’ve been’s,” or spaces that are “almost” familiar but unidentifiable. Reaching, remembering, and regret are major themes within his work transforming each frame into a “what-if” statement.
